Overview
Project duration: 3 month (Jun 15 – Sep 15, 2024)
Problem
As a professional piano tuner, my client was in need of a custom client management system to not only keep track of clients, but their pianos as well. Additional challenges included their almost exclusive use of this system on a tablet.
Goal
Create a custom CMS system for a piano tuner with specific, niche needs that auto populates user submitted data via a website form.
Research
As a very niche request, the ability to research for this project would be nearly impossible. In lieu of this I conducted extensive use-case interviews with the client to understand both their needs, how they will use the CMS, and how it may need to evolve in the future to adapt to business changes & growth.

Pain Point 3
Project Details
This displays a blank new client screen where details can be entered manually, or are automatically populated as a new entry whenever a prospective client submits a web form. The form submission not only indicates in the overall client list that it is a new client, but it instantly notifies the piano tuner of a new entry.
Usability Study Findings
Old Version
Prior to this major overhaul, the rudimentary system used was cumbersome and made it difficult to effectively document their service entries.
Mobile Optimization
The old version was not optimized for mobile devices, specifically tablets, which is the primary device used.
Client Piano Details
Here you will see an example of a client’s piano details. This section is displayed repeatedly based on the number pianos said client has. This allows for an organized collection of all pertinent details the piano tuner will need to properly service each piano.
This also contains a secondary section for a date stamped service entry where detailed notes may be left to describe what was done on that date for that specific piano.
With this piano section, my client is now able to fully document, in detail, the service provided.
